Effective SEM Lead Generation
Jared Johnson, Tap In Media’s SEM partner has been executing effective lead generation campaigns that deliver outstanding results. Here is his take on effective lead SEM lead generation and landing page design;
As an experienced SEM marketer, I have monitored closely the shift in behavior among consumers as it relates to lead generation and landing page design. Its become more apparent that direct, "in your face" lead gen is not effective anymore. Churn and burn is something of the past. Studies show that conversion rates are best when calls to action are below the fold, presented AFTER the value has been delivered. Ask for the order ONLY AFTER the value has been given.
Think of today's conversion rate optimization as trying to pickup a date at a bar. You can't just walk up to a someone and ask her for their phone number. You have to start a conversation, connect with that person, make them laugh; give him or her some semblance that there's some substance there between the two of you and then you can ask for the phone number!
That's the state of effective lead gen today . . . a far, far cry from where it used to be. The above is particularly true of Millennials and Boomers. Two things these audiences have in common is distrust; however the difference between these two audiences (generally) is that Millennials avoid person-to-person interaction until all else fails while Boomers crave it once they get to a certain point in their decision process.
Today’s formula for success involves using imagery to create the emotional appeal, while body content presents purely factual, non-hyperbolic statements organized in a somewhat scannable layout. It's not about minimalism or brevity anymore. The text doesn't have to make claims, but it absolutely must provide value, and users aren't opposed to scrolling. Thanks to Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and Mobile devices we have become programmed to scroll and enjoy vertical content.
As companies seek high value contacts that result in above average conversions, our team of partners at Tap in Media work to deliver through our elegant and sophisticated landing page designs.
